Terrace Garden at Carrie Blake Community Park near the band shell
On Saturday, February 29 at 1:00 PM, learn from our Sequim Botanical Garden Society Vice President and 27-year botanical gardener Lee Bowen during the “Work to Learn” Party demonstration “Pruning the Golden Celebration Roses” at the Sequim Botanical Garden in Carrie Blake Community Park north of the band shell. After the rose demonstration with Lee, learn how to support the Garden in other volunteer opportunities besides trimming and weeding. There will be a guided tour of the Terrace Garden’s development and learn about the preparation and fundraising efforts for the Sequim Botanical Garden’s next project, the awe inspiring Rose Garden.
These “Work to Learn” Parties are an opportunity for novice and seasoned gardeners to volunteer together to cultivate what makes our community exceptional and flourishing. You don’t have to get in the dirt to learn, but if you want to help please bring your gardening gloves, your tools, sunscreen, and hats and come mingle with other members of the community dedicated to growing a botanical garden that will enchant and educate visitors. Look for yellow signs and you will find parking near the water reuse entrance and near the band shell in the park.
The Sequim Botanical Garden Society is a volunteer partner with the City of Sequim and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We provide educational information and a visual demonstration of what can be done in home gardening with research-based horticultural practices. The Terrace Garden is located near the band shell in Carrie Blake Community Park. Connect with us online or via email for inspiring and educational volunteer opportunities in the garden.
